Follow Friday: Wherein the People Become Disciples of Lari. MWAHAHAHAHA
Welcome new followers! I have a pretty sweet giveaway going on right now, be sure to check it out. Also if you are new, please visit my about page to learn a little more about me and the blog.
First question from Parajunkee's Feature & Follow Friday!
Q. How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?
Oh man. I love a lot of the same stuff I loved as a teen. But that doesn't mean my reading habits haven't changed, they have. I think they've changed for the better. When I was a teen, I was only into fantasy fiction, today, I'm into all sorts of crazy things like books about philosophy, sociology, psychology, religion, science, etc. I've also broadened my fiction reading into not just fantasy, but regular fiction as well.
Q. Let’s talk crazy book titles! Highlight one or two (or as many as you like!) titles in your personal collection that have the most interesting titles! If you can’t find any, feel free to find one on the internet!
Burton & Swinburne in the Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack.
I got it when Borders was closing a few months back. Haven't read it but the cover and title was rather interesting to me.
One final announcement: I will be doing a guest post at Trish's blog, Just a YA Girl, next week. I'm excited (and a little nervous), as it will be my first guest post. I'm also a little concerned it might blow some faces off with its sheer awesomeness.
It's scheduled to go up on Tuesday. After my guest post over there, I'm planning on moving my regular Thursday library posts to Tuesdays, and my book reviews to Thursdays. (This way I won't have a post going up the same day I'm doing Follow Friday fun stuff.)
As always, if you follow, leave a comment so I can check out your website and get to know you better.

I loved fantasy as well as a teenager. <3 Following you as well. :)
ReplyDeleteFrom: For The Love of Reading!

Wow. I wish I could read all those different types of books. I'm still in the fiction is best, especially fantasy stage. Someday, I'll outgrow it. ;)
ReplyDeletePS--I love your title to this post. Hilarious!
I'm seriously impressed by anyone who was a reader in high school. I definitely had to grow into my love of books! Also, it is the smallest world, but my illustrator husband Rusty went to school with your illustrator husband. (We found this out when I clicked on the link to his blog in your about page. I promise I'm not a crazy stalker. Just the regular type.) (I'm totally kidding.)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
And then there's me staying in my happy little genre.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: http://www.stuckinbooks.com/2011/08/follow-friday-8-12-11.html
Good luck. That sounds like great fun!

Definitely a strange book title! Just hopping through. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I went in the opposite direction. Over time I narrowed down my focus to fantasy mainly, though I do still read other things. I guess it's more like I figured out what hits my awesome button more often than not?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I found you through Follow Friday and I'm a new subscriber. I like your library posts! They're really handy dandy. I'm a library page and have been hoping to enlighten readers about aspects of library-ing as well. (But your posts are much more fun.) And I'm currently reading The Magicians! Are you liking it? I am loving it. Like, it keeps surprising me! So awesome.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi! Looking forward to reading more from you and poking around your blog. :)

Thanks, Nina!
ReplyDeleteKathy, that's awesome! My husband says that you and your husband and we got married on the same exact day. That's pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you have a great weekend too!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't started the Magicians, I'm still finishing up Ashfall but I can't wait to start it! I love how I pre-emptively put it up. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for your compliments about my library posts. That's awesome that you are a page. That's how I started out in libraries.
And I'm so glad you figured out what hit your "awesome button." A lot of times people stop reading entirely because they never discover what hits theirs!
Don't feel bad if you never "outgrow" fantasy. That's a fabulous genre! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks. I had to make sure you were all aware I was turning you into my minions.
Thanks for stopping by! Heading to your blog.
ReplyDeleteStrange title for sure. Visiting via Book Blogger Hop. I am your newest GFC follower. I always follow back. Stop by and visit.
ReplyDeleteI bought Spring Heeled Jack for my library and keep meaning to pick it up and read it -- the cover art is so eye-catching!
ReplyDeleteI saw a funny book title..."Cooking with Pooh." My sons still crack up over that one (ok, I do too)
ReplyDeleteHehe. I think I bought it for the very same reasons.
ReplyDeleteBahahahah. That IS a good one.
