New Blogger Interface

If you use blogger, you'll have the option to try a new blogger interface. I noticed when I logged on today, that there was a pop-up and a button encouraging me to try it out.


I love the look! It looks so much cleaner and my Reading List is actually easier to read.

Anyways, I thought I would share since it looks pretty cool. I know that the regularity of my posts have gone down in the past two weeks, but mainly because I've been undergoing a series of existential crises.

Hahahahaha.

No really.

I plan on picking things back up to their regular pace today.

    LOL. Your reaction made me chuckle a bit. That sucks that not everyone has gotten it yet! I didn't realize I was a lucky son-uv-a-gun.

    Mine just popped up! I think Blogger is staggering it. It is a little confusing, but I am sure that I will get used to it!

    I saw it for the first time this morning and opted to try it out... seems much cleaner and more aesthetically-pleasing than the old interface (although it'll take some getting used to) but I'm a bit disconcerted by the big pops telling me that it is not compatible with Opera. I switched to Opera from Safari a few weeks ago because, well, Safari had been driving me insane and slowing my Mac down to a snail's pace. Typical - I really like Opera but now it might not play nicely with Blogger. ARGH!

    I'm on Chrome, so since it's Google's browser, it's probably optimally compatible. I've tried opera before once, and it seemed to be a great option too. It will probably be compatible once the new interface is more mainstream.

Q. Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from? I know they are dead, but since this is a hypothetical question to begin with, I would vote for Mark Twain, Carl Sagan, and J. R. R. Tolkien. Hands down. I don't know how much talking I would do. Oh man. I love a lot of the same stuff I loved as a teen. But that doesn't mean my reading habits haven't changed, they have. I think they've changed for the better. When I was a teen, I was only into fantasy fiction, today, I'm into all sorts of crazy things like books about philosophy, sociology, psychology, religion, science, etc. I've also broadened my fiction reading into not just fantasy, but regular fiction as well.   Q. E-Reading in the Bathtub?

Okay, so a lot of people say that e-readers never will replace print because they just, well, love paper books so much. I get it. When I get a new hardbound book and crack open the cover for the first time, the smell is intoxicating. I swear publishers put some kind of drug in the book binding glue to make it so addictive. But I also love my e-reader, and have been using it more and more... and in some cases, I'm preferring it over some paper books (because it isn't as heavy). Also, in June 2011, adult paperback books plunged 64% from last year, while e-book sales went up 161 percent . This suggests that while many hardcover books are still being purchased (though it dropped 25 % in the same month), people who just want to read a book for the sake of the words, and not the format (i.e. paperback readers), are starting to gravitate towards e-books. Libraries have growing digital collections, and some libraries have already started lending e-readers . I think in the future,
