FOLLOW FRIDAY (Thursday?) 8/26/11
Welcome new followers! Please visit my about page to learn a little more about me and this blog.
The first Follow Friday question is hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.
Q. In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series the paranormal creature in question "comes out of the closet" and makes itself known to the world. Which mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?
Fairies. Hands. Down.
Why? For two reasons:
1. I could obtain a fairy familiar like Link in the Zelda series. She would be a handy companion, who could give me life when needed, offer me enhanced magical abilities, or resurrect my dead body.
2. I could shake a fairy's dust on me, think happy thoughts, and voila, I no longer have to pay for airfare to visit the mainland. Plus, I could go to Neverland and be a pirate. Which would be sweet.
Although, having a fairy nearby could attract vampires, as has been seen in the Sookie Stackhouse novels and TV show. So I'd have to be on my guard.
BTW- I never noticed, until just now, the uncanny resemblance between Link and Peter Pan.
Say "hello" and leave your blog addy in the comments so I know who you are!

LOVE your answer! I chose faeries too. I never even considered the possibility of going to Neverland and becoming a pirate but that would definitely be one of many faerie perks! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I love your reasons for choosing fairies! I'd love a Zelda fairy too!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have to say, you've totally turned me around with the whole fairy thing. For some reason, I have a hard time giving fairies a chance, but these are definitely some valid points-- well stated, my friend :)
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, I am a new follower, and would like to say that a.) I am also a librarian, b.) I am also a nerd, and c.) I also LOVE Alice! I wanted to incorporate more of Tenniel's original artwork into my blog, but at the moment, my post signature is the only place I have it... love your page buttons, those are brilliant!!
PS~ If you read my FF post, I don't REALLY hate fairies, I just need to find more books I like with fairies in them. I'm working on it ;)
Have a great weekend! Stop on by when you get a chance!

New follower.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read to many fairy books. I should get on that.
Have a good weekend.
New blogger/follower here!
ReplyDeleteFairies are one of my answers to this question too. I've had a long fascination with fairies. There is just something about their whimsical, mischievous nature that intrigues me.
I love your Alice in Wonderland theme.
Here’s my FF
I love your reasoning for Fairies...didn't even think about the fairy dust and all LOL
ReplyDeleteHere's my "Follow Friday" post.
I saw that! I love G+. Thanks for the follow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by new followers! I have been able to visit all of your blogs and check out your site. Look forward to interacting with you all in the blogoverse. Much love going around. Glad to be a part of it.
ReplyDeleteI loved playing The Legend of Zelda on Gameboy as a kid. Great answer! It would save in airfare and ridiculous luggage costs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following me! Now I'm following you.
-Jenna @ Fans of Fiction
Legend of Zelda! link is FAR cooler than peter pan! even though navi got in my way alot and i fell off many cliffs because of it.
ReplyDeleteFairies would be awesome - as long as they were the nice kind not the mischief making type. although it could be fun either way!
ReplyDeleteFaeries are an interesting choice. Magical companions would be nice to have, and yeah, Link and Peter Pan do look kind of the same. I picked elves, and specified they be kind of capricious - and if you watch Peter Pan, Tinkerbell is pretty capricious.
ReplyDeleteAaron (Dreaming About Other Worlds).
For some reason it took me a while to figure out how to comment on this page! (maybe its the work computer acting up) Anywhoo, thanks for stopping by! Following Back! Faeries is an interesting choice and I love your reasons for choosing them!
ReplyDeleteFirst fairies that come to mind are those dreamed up by Terry Pratchett - happy to meet them and then close the book, leave them locked up.
